Nigeria’s first community owned club, Abuja Metro FC, made another breakthrough yesterday (December 12, 2019) by conducting their first Annual General Meeting.

The meeting was held online with members of the club from all over the world in attendance on the Club’s Official WhatsApp group.

Interim President, Kelvin Omuojine presented the annual report for 2019 which included the club’s activity on and off the pitch. On the pitch, the club participated in the 2019/20 FCT FA League. Despite being unable to progress beyond the first phase, the club was able to record a first competitive win in history.

Abuja Metro FC made a positive impression in its first competitive season and the interim president thanked everyone for their support, passion and belief in the vision to develop a modern football club. Kelvin also thanked the Technical crew and the players for representing the club in the FCT FA League.

The financial status of the club was also discussed. Members were urged to clear their debts to ensure the club is not in debt.

The Club’s Bye-Laws was presented by the management board and was adopted by the members of the club. The Bye-Law, in line with the FIFA, CAF and NFF status will act as a guide in the activities of the club.

The Electoral Committee were charged to conduct an election as soon as possible. This will usher in the new executives of the club. Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Chibuzor Amos, assured the club that elections will be conducted in line with the adopted Bye-Laws.
