Charles Utah’s 50th minute goal was enough as Abuja Metro FC edged out Mbora FC 2-1 at the Government Secondary School pitch in Garki.
Coach Modebe made few changes to the team that ran over Jagula FC last week.

Mbora FC fielded a strong side but they were undone in the 4th minute. In form striker Charles Utah found Goodluck Jonathan Habakkuk who slotted home for the opener.
It was end to end stuff between the teams but in the 33rd minute, Steven Temple added to Coach Modebe’s injury worries. He was subbed off for Nuhu Ismaili.
The Metros took the lead to the break but were stunned immediately after resumption. Justine got the equalizer for Mbora FC in the 46th minute.
Coach Modebe reacted quickly to the goal and made a double substitution almost immediately in the 47th minute. Clement Cee and Frank Ahonye replaced Ikenna Ekedoro and Miracle Tonack respectively.
Three minutes after the substitution, Charles Utah scored the winner with first half sub Nuhu Ismaili with the assist.
The striker have now been involved in at least two goals per game for Abuja Metro FC in 2021.
In the 85th minute, Ocheni Victor came on for Success Orji to ensure we kept the lead.
Mbora FC huffed and puffed but Abuja Metro FC held on to a 2-1 victory.
Abuja Metro FC have now scored 2+ goals in 5 consecutive matches. The team will hope to extend this record in the next game.
