Founder of VOE Foundation, Victor Obinna Edeh spoke to Abuja Metro FC Media after the donation.

It is important to us for players in Nigeria to have an authentic professional experience while playing the beautiful game. FC Bayern Munich have supported our quest to deliver this experience by supporting our projects with authentic Adidas jerseys designed for the first team.

In this instance, we are happy to provide Abuja Metro FC with the official FC Bayern 2017/18 away jerseys with belief that it would inspire the players to share in our values and better their game in a bid to become professional athletes of the game.”

The donation was received today at the club headquarters in Abuja by the club executives. The donation consists of 21 jerseys, 24 shorts, 20 socks and a tech-fit vest. Receiving the present from FC Bayern, the General Secretary Chiamaka Anagu was quick to tell the AMFC Media about the shared values with FC Bayern.

“Responsibility, Innovation, Partnership, Joy are some of the core values of FC Bayern Munich and we at Abuja Metro FC, though in our toddler stages, share in these values as we believe that the people should be for the Club and the Club for the people. Community is one of our core strengths.”

She expressed gratitude over the donation. “We want to express our profound gratitude for this gesture from Bayern Munich to us in the year considered by many as the toughest. This gesture will definitely encourage the players and the community to reach for more goals, knowing that we have very successful big brothers cheering us on!”

The donations came in handy as we commence pre-season activities for the 2020/21 season after the Covid-19 lockdowns. The club will use the kits for the upcoming friendly match against Habees FC at the Area 3 Football Pitch, Garki Abuja.
