South London Has Fallen

Abuja Metro FC continued preparations for the 2021 FCT FA League with a 2-0 victory over South London FC.

Few days after confirming participation in the League, Coach Modebe’s lads put up a good game at the Government Secondary School, Garki.

Team: Samuel Ajayi (Saka Ominisi 65′), Bernard Bitrus, Abdullahi Useni, Naphtali Oboghare, Kennedy Badmus (Yohannes Oboghare 46′), Eze Vitus (Chibuike Umeadi 51′), Charles Utah, Nuhu Ismaili, Ikenna Ekedoro, Dajoe Meshark, Henry Osudu (David Ubahi 42′)

How It Happened

Coach “Jaguar” Modebe had to be forced to make a substitution in the first half after Henry Osudu picked up an injury in the 42nd minute.

The goals came in the second half. Eze Vitus opened the scoring in the 50th minute from Ikenna Ekedoro’s corner kick.

10 minutes later, Naphtali Oboghare put the game beyond the visitors. He dribbled past 5 South Londoners and shot a rocket from outside the box beyond the goalie. Wonderful goal.

South London FC also play in the FCT FA League and this victory will propel the lads to continue preparations for the FCT League scheduled to kick off next month.

Up next, we play New Dawn FC on October 2, 2021.
