Abuja Metro’s 7-match unbeaten run came to an end after visiting Basic FC won 3-1 at GSS, Garki.

Few hours after the opening ceremony of the FCT FA League, both sides met to wrap up friendly activities before the season begins.

The home side were stunned in the 5th minute when Basic FC took the lead. The visitors doubled the lead in the 34th minute.

Ikenna Ekedoro halved the deficit in the 41st minute to bring scores to 1-2.

After the break, Coach Modebe made three substitutions but Basic FC added made it 3-1 in the 65th minute.

With 20 minutes left to play, the coach made additional subs but the game ended 3-1 in favour of the visitors.

It is the first friendly match we have lost since December 2020. Coach Modebe will take positives from the game in preparation of our season opener against Scorpion FC on Wednesday.
